I want to share with you a personal story about how pilates and movement in general helped me get back my life after becoming a new mom.
I work with all types of clients, but my heart really lies in helping people who have given up exercise because they are too busy, they had a major life change, or they have a health condition that “prevented” them from doing a normal gym workout. Why is that? Why not just train anyone?
Well, I won’t turn you away, but truthfully, I teach from my heart and don’t feel the need to be everything to everyone.
Let me tell you what I mean….
Last year, I had my first child. Let me tell you…having a baby really changes you — overnight you become a different person. The person you were the previous day is gone. This loss of self is something that hit me so strongly that I dropped into a deep depression. I won’t go into the details of that, but let’s just say I became super negative and really felt lost. I was cranky, sleepy, eating lots of sugary treats and fried food…I was just a mess. If you don’t believe me, let me know and I’ll send you the pictures. Not a pretty sight.
It took me a full year to start realizing how much time I had lost – how much I had dropped out of life.
Only after I experienced a major shift in my mindset and learned how to “self-talk” to get me back to life…back to reality. That song has gone through my head too many times!
After making some major changes to my nutrition and exercise routines…like oh, not eating sugar and actually doing, not just teaching pilates….I started to see results unlike any other time in my life.
It was tough the first few months — juggling my now toddler running me ragged on a daily basis, but I found that if I was consistent in my efforts, I saw results — not just in my body but in every aspect of my life.
I look forward to sharing my step-by-step process with you too! If you are looking for the road back to a good life for yourself, start by getting your body and mind in shape. You will be astonished at the results you can achieve — even if you are busy, a new mom, travel for business a lot, or feel that you are too weak!
